All Good Things #9 Good Things

.. Must come to an end. Isn’t that what the saying is? If so, then it is the worst saying ever. I believe good things are endless; and although I have let the finish of my month of gratitude fizzle out, it has nothing to do with a lack of good things.

Sometimes it means I am exhausted from all the good things in a day. Sometimes I have no adequate words to express my gratitude and sometimes there are so many words they just get jumbled up in my happy brain.

Yet here we are on the last day of my #9 Good Things prompt for myself for the month of November. As usual, I have to choose between many magical moments to end up with nine and that is the great news.

My prayer and hope is that this holiday season brings everyone more good moments than they have the words to express, that their joy is beyond measure and that we all push the pause button on frantic shopping and worry for the world’s condition long enough to embrace these moments. Only when good things are acknowledged do they make a difference.

A perfectly gorgeous day to hike, breathe the air and be one with Nature

A very special treat. 😱

Spending an afternoon with friends for tea

Meeting their newest addition
(Who happens to love sitting in the Christmas tree. 🤭)

Getting an oven that bakes my favorite pizza recipe!

Uh huh..

Having a surprise video chat with my little bug and his Dad

Add a video call with Number 2 son and his twins that turned 8 today! 🤗

Helping the tiniest moth find its way outside.

So I wave goodbye to November’s good things and turn to December with high hopes and great expectation. I just know good things await us all.

Where Miracles Happen/#Thursday Doors

I know, I know, I am always late. Sometimes I am busy and sometimes I am awaiting inspiration. This week it was a bit of both. Maybe busy just got in the way of inspiration, but it was a wonderful kind of busy. Good food, friendly encounters and making a bit of holiday magic. Ok, on with this or I’ll surely miss the deadline.

As our host Dan of No Facilities knows, I have a pretty unconventional view regarding doors and since they are portals, the possibilities can be vast. Miracles come in many forms but there is none more exciting to me than the miracle of Creation. Too many humans don’t take the time to really see life unfolding, don’t understand the need for honoring this earth and disregard its delicate balance. But then too many humans don’t understand this about their own bodies either.

When I walk outside I hear the whispers of the wind in the trees, feel the earth breathing beneath my steps and embrace the love that Mother Earth shares with us freely in every moment. You know the old adage, “If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, is there really a sound?” Well, I wonder how long Nature can continue to be as brilliant, benevolent and generous if humanity does not pay attention, appreciate its gifts and return the unconditional love she offers.

When I look into the heart of life
I forget that there is pain and strife

Her gifts too great to count and
the challenges she surmounts
give me pause

For if we shall be grand
it is only hand in hand..
Connected we survive
we thrive..
Brilliant!

Oh, and don’t forget to dance~

This is Thanksgiving #1LinerWednesday #9GoodThings

In spite of all the hype, the unquestionable historical inaccuracies and blatant commercialism, I have found true celebration in honest Thanksgiving.

In a morning hike

The air, the view, the invigoration of an uphill climb

Then rest and cool breezes are Nature’s gentle reward for a job well done

A friend to share it with

An unexpected rainbow hiding in the shadows..

No matter how often I see it, this view takes my breath away

A celebratory Pina Colada after my cornbread for tomorrow is baked
(I even toasted coconut for garnish 🤭)
Yeah, fresh pineapple and coconut milk too. 😋

A sweet phone chat with my youngest about making dressing. We used to cook together a lot!

Always looking down I find so much art in Nature.
May all your days be celebrations of thanksgiving.

This post is part of Linda Hill’s 1LinerWednesday prompt along with #9GoodThings for my gratitude month. Visit her blog to meet other bloggers and check out the rules for this prompt.

Quiet Days #9Good Things

The past two days have been low key. The weather has been cloudy and actually chilly today. I know, I know it isn’t 32 or -8, but for this area 63 is pretty low. It was nice to wear some leggings and want to snuggle in for a bit.

As always there are good things. I hope your Tuesday was amazing and full of good things.

1) I made a new buddy!

2) My first time making Shrimp and Grits. SO yum!

3) A new yellow and black bird at the fruit bar. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo 😕

4) This tiny bloom makes me giddy!

5) Cuz….Blueberry Muffins! 😋❤️

6) Yeah, lots of food moments. This Chicken Pot Pie was shared with us by a friend. It was as good as it looks.

7) Catching the mischief of sunlight wherever I can!

8) My own little Christmas art addition to the tree. 🤪

9) Nothing completes breakfast quite like smoked sausage and potatoes!! 🥰😍

Ready for tomorrow and more good things. Stay tuned…🤗❤️

You knew it had to happen eventually! 🤭

Friends Forever #9GoodThings

The wisdom of my Sleepytime tea seemed very appropriate yesterday and completely defines the kind of relationship my husband and I have known. Friends first and always..

 Hi All,

I know I’ve been hit and miss with my posts over the past week but life has been busy in fun ways.

Most recently hubs and I celebrated over 30 years married and enjoyed a quiet dinner at a local Italian restaurant with wonderful food and an amazing view.

A couple who are good friends returned from the US and I spent an afternoon with another friend celebrating her birthday. So, I have lots of good things to appreciate and share.

Celebrating my friend’s birthday began with some shopping for Christmas decorations

A snack and celebratory drinks at one of our favorite food places.
Happy Birthday, Colleen! 🤗❤️

We had a nice, leisurely walk through the new park that is being built in town

There is a section that is paved where you can walk beside the river. The air, the scenery-all so perfect!

Fresh air is so good for the body and soul!

Yes, we worked up an appetite and headed for the best pizza in Boquete at APizza which is part of the same restaurant where Hubs and I would celebrate yesterday. What’s better than pizza and wine?

Well, if you’re me…

Pizza and beer!

Wood fired pies…😋😋

We weren’t done yet and walked over to one of the local ‘famous’  bars for a drink and another gorgeous view!
Psssst…that pretty drink is called the Bob Marley. It tastes as colorful as it looks. 🤭

Salud!

While we waited for our taxi we checked out a new venue across the road, a cute little Cuban restaurant and bar where there is live Salsa music and dancing on Saturday night. It certainly could be a Happy Place!

Isn’t this cozy and lovely?

When the bartender found out it was my friend’s birthday he broke out the Cuban liquor for a celebration shot! 😃

Just about have my little Charlie Brown tree complete!

Yes, fresh turmeric root!

The porch tree is looking good too!

Somewhere in there I made Blueberry Bread Pudding. 🤤❤️

I missed the eclipse and we have had non stop cloudy nights, but Moon gave me a few peeks. 😉

Turmeric, Ginger, Coconut milk gummies. Yeah, they are very tasty, sweetened with a bit of local honey.

We had a great video chat with number three son and his fantastic kiddo.

Gifts from the greenhouse. This lettuce was like a bouquet!

For our anniversary dinner we started off with this mouth watering appetizer sampler. Lettuce with Balsamic and Olive Oil, smoked salmon, Eggplant Parmesan stack, meatball and cheese stuffed baby bellas, calabrese, prosciutto, pepperocini and bread toasts. Oh my! 😮

The main event-the wood fired Calabrese pizza!
With freshly grated parmesan cheese.

And the view from their balcony

We are very thankful to be together in this here and now.

Another friend treated us to brunch in the morning. Great way to start our day! Thanks Carol!

I’ll leave you with a couple of ‘friendly’ tunes. Stay happy and keep counting those good things! I’ve had too many to number. 🤗🤗❤️

Always think of Days of Our Lives..

Yes, well, just James. 🙂

One of my favorite kids’ film series

That’s what friends are for. Keep smiling…keep shining…
