The Accomplice #poetry #photography #birds

Would I

though stunningly bright

be able to light

a starless night?

I think not

My bit

of golden shimmer

is but a glimmer

in the shadow

of morning

And yet

I keep  returning

and so the turning

of the hourglass

sets the stage

I bow

and enter, stage left

ignoring the theft

of velvet night-

by day’s light

Spice of Life! #CFFC

This week our blogging host Cee has challenged us to post photos using Salt White. I think I’ve managed to find a few you might enjoy. Salt is the real spice of life after all, even though technically it’s a seasoning. Still, I can’t recall a cake or cookie or pie recipe I’ve ever made that didn’t require it. 🤔

The only painting I’ve ever been really pleased with. 🙂

I’d Rather See Red #CFFC

than wear it. Yes, I am a rather ruddy skinned gal and red has never suited me. But I love the reds I see in Nature and especially at this time of year. Thanks, Cee for another fun challenge . Be sure to visit Cee’s blog for all the photo challenges she gives us and see the work of other wonderful photographers. This week’s challenge was Apple Red. Any shade..

So when Santa asked what I wanted for lunch…

You knew there’d be one didn’t you? 🫢

Okay maybe gratuitous feral cat photo but that bush screams Pink Lady Apple Red…

Making our favorite artisan loaf. Jalapeno Cheddar bread in the Dutch Oven.

Miss Ladybug!

Like a kiss!

I love Xochoatl, Aztec spicy hot chocolate. 😍

And these guys from my ‘Mother’s treasure chest of memories’. I’ll bet you can tell which one is more Animal than Kermit.

Because apples, Peanut butter and chocolate chips is a grand snack!

Bougainvillea is one of my favorites!

One of the best little taco trucks in town

A bit of my art from out of the past.

Let the good times roll!

‘The quack, you say!’

I told you I don’t wear it well. But any color in a storm trying to save my ‘babies’.

My latest hummingbird ‘kits’. They love those little feeders on the windows!

Yeah. A half ripe apple. 😉

I may not wear red clothes but I sometimes paint red toes…

Snagged this shot in a garden center in Florida!

That Christmas was the best! Whole lotta love.

This guy can wear red. He can do anything!

No words needed. Just ❤️

#CFFC If Only They Knew

This week’s prompt for CEE’s Fun Foto Challenge is Animals Caught Unaware. Well I might as well have just posted a link to my photo cache but instead I chose just a few of my favorites. I always feel a connection to the nature I photograph but am fairly certain these animals were too preoccupied tok ow O was watching…

Now this is a fine pickle, Ollie…

“If I could just. Get. That. One.loose feather…”

Lunch for the family?

Busyness

Do a little dance, make a little love…

There are no words to describe manatee affection.

If a crab no bigger than my pinky can recycle, then why can’t we?

“Wait… wait…”

“Mirror, mirror on the car,
With this face, will I go far?”

What can I say? It was a fortuitous moment for me and the snake.

Butterflies in love…

“Herb, um, I think someone is watching…”

Gotcha!
