Who Knows? #SoCS

 Who knows

where the wind goes

after it kisses

my cheek

Do you know, little bird?

Of course you do!

For it carries you

beyond my

simple view.

Little Bug

I want to hug

you close and kiss

that button nose!

The winged things
have no strings
to keep them
tethered,
grounded..

The world says “Yes!”
as you might guess
so ignore the noes

Follow the river wherever if goes
carried on the flow of possibility..

The very minute I started this, one of my favorite songs started. It certainly fits here. My daughter-in-law, Hayley introduced me to John Hiatt. Every time I hear him sing I think of her and her Dad.

The River Knows Your Name

Happy Easter to all who celebrate.Even if you aren’t religious this is a perfect time to celebrate the wonder of Spring, the expression of love and appreciation of life and its endless opportunity.

Today’s post was inspired by our #SoCS prompt from Linda Hill. Please visit her blog for the rules if you want to join in. You’ll meet some terrific bloggers there!

Today’s prompt was to use nose/noes/knows any or all three, any way you like.

The Drinks Were So Good… #1Liner Wednesday

 How good were they?

They were the bees’ knees! 🤦‍♀️

It was a perfect day, here in the middle of the ‘rainy season’. Friends invited us to drive to a tranquil Nature Resort on the Caldera River for the day. I can’t say enough good things about El Rio Encantado

Our host reserved the pool area for us and they provided service as needed at the poolside bar. We brought our own lunch and enjoyed while listening to the river.  There are cabinas for rent all around the property with beautiful trails between them and that also lead to the river.

I’m going to stop talking now and just share the images with you. I wish I could share the feeling of exhilaration we experienced being beside the river nestled in the mountains.

Oh, and in case you were concerned, I rescued my little bee friend using the straw and sent it off with a warning to beware what pool it chooses to cool its feet in. 😉

Yeah, I did spend time on the turtle mound

The hubby loves these

If I get to go back, I hope to walk that bridge. I took this shot from a lookout tower.

Making yummy drinks

This Treehouse is one of the rentals and has its own rancho for cooking outdoors. It is right on the river.

Fresh air and tranquility heals the body and soothes the soul.

We were told you can sometimes see the monkeys but they stayed out of view while we were there.

Those are roots!

My muscles were peeved that I had so recently been inactive but we are on the same page now. 😉

Peace, Love and Catfish #ThursdayDoors

 Hi All,

I’m stepping up my game this week. Two posts in one week is a new record for me. I’d love to return to normal eventually.

In keeping with what appears to be a theme with me, my doors are often just the tip of the iceberg for my post content and today is no exception.

We were invited to join family and friends for a camping excursion at the Platte River. In our life raising children we have camped many ways-tents mostly with a few cabin events. As we get older, tenting is less desirable but cabins with primitive setups outside are the best. This place measures top of the scale for me and the cabin chosen was in a perfect spot. It was on a hill overlooking the lake with a short path to a beautiful grassy hollow where hammocks could be hung and there was a cool breeze in the shade. A few more steps to the lake and you could cast your line.  Everyone caught catfish, including moi! It was my first time to actually fish and even though I hurled the rod at the hubs to reel him in, it was a respectable fish. Sadly, it was catch and release only. Everyone kept hooking a fish and after awhile we joked that it must be the same two fish who were thrill seekers coming back again and again. 😜😂

Here are a few images from our Sunday fun day excursion, complete with a hike to a rather small waterfall that was situated in a lovely spot.

For more great doors posts, be sure to visit our host Dan Antion’s place

This was a most important door.

Such a peaceful setting

One of my favorite guys! ❤️

This guy is an ace fisherman.

Our event planner and resident sweetheart.

Haaaaayyyy..

Paw Paw tales

This was a bodacious fire!

Got corn?

The firemaster!

She put together an awesome selection of possibilities for our ‘hobo packs’. So yummy!

This one was mine! Yeah, I had to have a friend set him free.

Our fishing spot.

They heard my Cheeze It bag rustle. 🤦‍♀️

Beautiful new winged friend

Okay, more doors. The cabin was ‘modern’ but rustic enough for me.

This is where the coffee and yummies happen.

My favorite door-the great  ‘out’doors. 😀

Beautiful Japanese beetle landed on the hammock beside us.

We found the trickle-I mean-waterfall!

Enough to dip one’s toes into.

And such a beautiful place
